Antec Sonata Elite

$119.00 Released December, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Includes passive cooling slots for hotter system builds. Good for those who want to select their own PSUs. Attractive build / front door.

The Cons:Very little difference between the Sonata III and Sonata Elite - but costs more and comes without a PSU. Costs more than the basic Sonata III. Poor internal layout compared to the Performance One series.

Announced on December 15th 2008, the Sonata Elite is the latest in the long line of affordable quality enclosures by the same name from Antec. With higher end features such as the triple layer side panels for reduced noise, the Sonata Elite ditches the standard power supply and supplements a higher price.

Yale: #antec_sonata_elite I agree with the majority of commenters on Tech Report, this is an unnecessary addition to the lineup. Those that care for customization and the cases thermodynamic design are going for the Performance One series, and those that don't aren't going to mind paying more *or* less for a model with a built in 550W power supply. It almost seems like Antec's engineers don't feel like their power supplies are worth anything. That or they REALLY overestimate their improvements to the case. Side panels and a bit of poorly placed passive cooling slits? Really? Dec 15, 08
