Antec Skeleton

$150.00 Released July, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Ideal as a PC testbed. Top part of the case structure can be used as a handle to carry it around. Allows PC components to run cool in an open air environment.

The Cons:Lack of physical protection; anything can fall inside your PC. No airflow control (direction, pressure, etc...). The power supply is installed sideways in this case, which is not convenient at all to install the AC power cord.

The Antec Skeleton is a large, open-air ATX tower computer case compatible with Mini-ITX, MicroATX, and standard ATX motherboards. Measuring approximately 15.74 x 18.11 x 18.89”, the Antec Skeleton features 4 drive bays, a 250mm TriCool 3-speed LED fan, a rear 92mm HD cooling fan, and 8 expansion slots with room for 11 graphics cards.

For connectivity, the unit comes pre-equipped with USB and AC’97 audio ports, as well as IEEE1394 (Firewire) and eSATA ports. As for the frame, it is built out of .8mm cold rolled steel with a high-density ABS frame reinforced for enhanced durability. Most notable about the Antec Skeleton its open-air design, which allows for ‘extraordinary’ airflow in and out of the chassis—for better or worse, depending on ambient temperature.
